Poetry (2018-present)

Christina suddenly began writing poetry in 2018, having shown no previous interest in the genre, with the exception of two poor attempts in college. She credits living on Jeju Island, South Korea, and the lovely people she befriended there, with inspiring her to write verse.

Her poems have now been published in print editions and/or on the websites of Active Muse, Adelaide Literary Magazine, all the sins, Anak Sastra, Bear Creek Gazette, Better than Starbucks! Poetry Magazine, Black Fox Literary Magazine, Brief Wilderness, Boned, Cicada Creative Magazine, Clepsydra Literary and Art Magazine, Coffin Bell Journal, Contemplit Magazine, Cosmic Daffodil Journal, CP (Crêpe & Penn) Quarterly, Dipity Literary Magazine, Dream Noir, Eastern Structures, Eratio, Former People, Fresh Words Magazine, From Sac, Gastropoda, Gingerbread House Literary Magazine, Grey Sparrow Journal, Haikuniverse, Halcyon Days, Harbinger Asylum, Hive Avenue Literary Journal, Home Planet News, In Parentheses, isotrope, Journal of Expressive Writing, Kathmandu Tribune, Life and Legends, LitBop, Lullwater Review, Modern Literature, Modern Poets Magazine, Meow Meow Pow Pow Lit, Night Picnic (in English and in Russian), Nōd Magazine, North Dakota Quarterly, Nude Bruce Review, October Hill Magazine, Oddball Magazine, OpenDoor Magazine, Open Minds Quarterly, Perceptions Magazine, Ranger, Round Table Literary Journal, Salvation South, Sheepshead Review, Star 82 Review, Steam Ticket, Switchgrass Review, Taj Mahal Review, The Cawnpore Magazine, The Charles Carter, The Courtship of Winds, The Decadent Review, The Flying Dodo, The Ganga Review (formerly known as Lalitamba), The Headlight Review, The Legend, The Nonconformist Magazine, The Opiate, The Pangolin Review, The Scop, The South Shore Review, The Writing Disorder, Valiant Scribe Literary Journal, Vita Poetica Journal, Wilderness House Literary Review, andWord Poppy Press. Christina’s verse has also been included in anthologies published by Wingless Dreamer, in the chapbook In the Garden (Torrey House, 2022), and in the 2023 Texas Poetry Calendar. NOTE: Christina’s having been published in a venue does not mean that she necessarily agrees with that venue’s socio-political bent, just that it was open for free submissions and the editor(s) happened to like a piece (or multiple pieces) she produced; she thinks readers from vastly different viewpoints may see the value in her work, no matter the literary surroundings.

Christina’s first poetry collection, On Unfirm Terrain, was issued by Kelsay Books (USA) in late 2022.
